Update on additional parts order
Roush Supercharger Plug&Play Wiring harness : Here
Installation of the supercharger kit requires a few OEM wiring to be cut, repinned and extended. I ordered this plug and play wiring extension harness so that I can save time from the installation and also keep the OEM wiring as-is.
90mm Idler and 82mm 9.5psi Pulley: Here
I decided to order 82mm pulley to further challenge the power levels.
The standard pulley from Roush is 85mm and provides 8.5psi boost. With a good custom tuning this could help putting 520hp on the wheels (610-615hp crank). The 82mm pulley increases the boost to 9.5psi with closed airbox meaning additional 35-40hp at the wheels. I expect to have a final figure of 560 wheel hp at least which is about 660 crank hp.
The 90mm idler is to replace the stock 75mm idler that Roush supplies. The reason is, smaller 82mm pulley might cause some slack in the belt tension and eventually pulley slip. 90mm idler will tighten things up and make sure max belt traction is available.
Some might wonder isnt 9.5 psi too high? Ford Racing provides a 9psi FRPP Supercharger package as OEM option. Ofcourse it voids all warranty but I am just wildly guessing that if 9psi was dangerous or couldnt be handled by stock Coyote internals, why would FRPP offer it at all? The internet is also full of Coyote examples running +10-11psi in daily driven cars for thousands of miles.
Tuning Updates
VMP Tuning is currently the leader in Roush supercharger tunin in the US. They offer remote custom tuning by datalogging and reviewing up to 5 times for $349. I will be receiving two performance tunes from them; one for 85mm and one for 82mm pulley. Their claim is that they have all the knowledge and experience to safely put down about 530rwhp (85mm) and 565+rwhp (82mm). VMP is also one of Roush's official aftermarket partners that contributed to developing Roush stock calibration.
Can't wait to hit the dyno once the project is completed.

The Parts List
Here is the list of all the essential Parts that are necessary.
- Roush TVS2300 575hp Calibrated, 50 State Legal Supercharger Kit: Roush 575hp Kit
It is important that whatever supercharger kit you are installing, it is calibrated to be 50 State Emission legal. This Roush kit is a full ready to bolt on kit with everything you need
Status: To be ordered
- Ford Racing Boss 302 Oil Cooling Kit : Here
To help you keep the engine oil temperature in ideal range. The boosted applications will definitely heat your oil faster than stock Coyote. You need to give the cooling system a hand with this simple, cheap kit.
Status: To be ordered
- Ford Racing Cold Spark Plug Kit: Here
OEM spark plugs from GT500. Designed to work best at the operating temperatures of a supercharged engine. Definitely worth replacing your stock spark plugs
Status: To be ordered
- Aeroforce Interceptor Dual Gauge Kit and Roush Boost Gauge: Here
To help you keep an eye on your Air Fuel Ratio and Supercharger boost
Status: To be ordered
Here is a list of "nice to have" parts that I will also install which are more aimed towards more stability, traction and performance on the rear axle.
- Ford Racing SVT Complete Rear Axle Assembly: Here
Comes with 3.73 Gears, Carbon clutches, Traction Lok differential and 800hp rated SVT complete axle assembly and body. Original assembly from Boss 302 and GT500.
Status: Ordered
- Hawk HPS Performance Brake Pads (both front and rear pair): Here
Far less dust than original brembo brake pads + much improved response and brake performance.
Status: Ready to install
- Steeda Competition Adjustable Upper Control Arm: Here
To get rid of that clunky loosely fitted rear axle control arms that are weak and twist under force. This is going to help stabilize rear, fine tune the shaft pinion angle and also eliminate wheel hop. I have the one with Poly bushings so that NVH noise increase is minimized.
Status: Ready to install
- CHE Performance lower control arms with relocation brackets: Here
Many of us mostly ignore the importance of relocation brackets especially when you lower the Mustang. The geometry of the lower control arms must be adjusted by the bracket otherwise lowering the Mustang promotes even more wheel hop. This is because, lowered chassis causes the stock lower arms to point UPWARDS which literally pushes your axle UP upon hard acceleration. CHE performance has amazing reviews for it's quality. I will install their lower arms and relocation brackets to correct the geometry. The brackets correct the arm angle to make sure it is again horizontal to the ground.
Status: Ready to install

The project is born
Hi Horsepower Junkies
We are all part of a very special community in Europe. We are the ones who proudly drive our Pony cars amoung the European hybrids, smart cars, electric cars and geniously use the gasoline that all the others save! (ecomental people who hug trees!). I opened this blog to everyone who is a Mustang fan and has made him or herself isolated from all the ongoing hippie madness in Europe and who has become a warrior for defending Mustang rights against "Strassenverkhersamt" -- the government body which hires the most car unfriendly people to basicaly regulate our vehicles.
Why do we love Mustangs? This is a question as hard to answer as "what is love"? or "what is the meaning of life?" or "who am I"? or "who the hell are you?" when ask the girl next to you after waking up to a massive hangover. All I know is we all carry our Mustangs in our hearts. We drive around 10 mins at a parking lot trying to find a space that is atleast 20m away to any other, we pullover on the highway just to wash away that bird poo using microfiber cloth and car wax! While the angry wife sits and stares at you thinking "what the hell is wrong with you?". We store our cars for winter in a garage, wax it and wear it with a tent. But then, spend every other night secretly walking down to the garage and sitting in the car while it is snowing outside. Thinking how wonderful that our Pony cars are safe and warm inside :)
I know for sure that one of the reasons why I love my pony car is it's raw V8 muscle power. We dont need all those fancy electronics and doppelkuplunggetriebeapparatmachine-x2dtc style transmission. Nor the kind of space aluminum nuclear war radiation resistant fuel door that Audi installs after spending 200 mil Euro for developing it in their underground German secret labs. The mustang is a simple, heavy metal steel, pure V8 powered muscle that makes you feel your ass is connected straight to the rear axle.
2011 was an awesome year. Ford released the famous Coyote 5.0 engines that have quickly won several prices for being one of the most developped and efficient 5.0 V8 engine. I know most of us are quite happy keeping it stock at 412hp. But I always had a feeling that the car was built to handle much more. As Switzerland, being one of the most hardcore countries for promoting everyone to ride a skateboard to work than driving, it has almost been an impossible task for us to freely pimp up and personalize our rides.
BUT.. I have decided to take the challenge and study to find ways to install a legendary Roush TVS 2300 supercharger in my pony car. I am starting this blog to take you all through the process until I can finally install this baby and fully legalize it in Switzerland. I hope that I will be successful so that one day we can all enjoy our boosted Coyote powered Mustangs and give the GT500 owners a new war :)
Please stay tuned for updates as I am still developing the project plan. Meanwhile take a look at this fantastic article. Roush TVS Installation and Dyno Results on a 2011 Mustang GT Automatic This will give you some heads up what kind of beast and yet, daily drivable love machine I will end up building.
Stay tuned brothers and sisters..
